My name is Rachel Edoho-Eket [pronounced: ED-OH-ECK- IT] and it is a joy and privilege to serve as Principal of Waverly Elementary school! Over the last nine years, I have grown to know our school community well, and care deeply about our students, staff, and families. Our school takes pride in its commitment to excellence and the great partnership that is fostered between home and school. We are very fortunate to work with such wonderful students, who are guided and inspired by our dedicated staff and supportive families. Our mission at Waverly Elementary School is to create an environment of excellence in teaching and learning where students reach high academic standards and learn to be caring and responsible citizens. My desire is that all students will perform at their highest potential, and I am confident that our students will continue to achieve great success with your ongoing involvement and support. I am a proud graduate of the Howard County Public School System! As a lifelong learner, I hold a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Professional Practice. This year will mark my 18th year in public education. During that time, I have served as an elementary school teacher, Instructional Team Leader, Assistant Principal, and Principal. Although I have always felt at home in the classroom, it is in my position as principal that I have felt most fulfilled in my life’s work. The elementary principalship provides the daily opportunity to collaborate with teachers and parents, while remaining closely connected to students in the classroom. As Principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or items you would like to discuss. It is with a strong commitment that I serve the Waverly Elementary School community. I am eager to learn and lead together and look forward to celebrating our collective successes during the 2023-2024 school year!

It is with great pleasure that I have the opportunity to serve the students, staff, and families in the Waverly school community. I have over thirty years of instructional and leadership experience in both general and special education. Through my experiences, I have been fortunate to work with a variety of schools, representing students and families from various social, cultural, and economic backgrounds. This is my 11th year as an Assistant Principal, and I have served at both Waverly and Hollifield Station. I am committed to excellence for all students and believe in collaborative partnerships between schools and their families. My husband and I are proud parents of 3 beautiful children who have graduated from the Howard County Public School System.
