What a joy and a privilege to serve as the Principal of such a great school! Waverly Elementary School takes pride in its commitment to excellence and the great partnership that is fostered between home and school. We are very fortunate to work with such wonderful students, who are guided and inspired by our outstanding staff and supportive families. Our mission at Waverly Elementary School is to create an environment of excellence in teaching and learning where students reach high academic standards and learn to be caring and responsible citizens. Our focus on College and Career Readiness centers on our students' achievement of readiness indicators, including: academic achievement, learning behaviors, attendance and punctuality, attitude, and participation in extra-curricular activities. As a school that has implemented the Elementary School Model, we are pleased to offer specialized departmental teaching and daily Spanish instruction. This exciting model also highlights staff and student's personal talents and strengths. We are confident that our students will continue to achieve great success with your continued involvement and support. It has been my good fortune to serve as administrator at Waverly Elementary School. My entire career as an educator in the Howard County Public School System spans 43 years. During these rewarding years, I have taught grades 2-5 for a total of 27 years, served as an Assistant Principal for 4 years, and continue in my 12th year as your Principal. As Principal, I maintain an open door policy. Please feel free to contact me, or stop by the office, if you have any questions or items you would like to discuss. I look forward to the exciting school year awaiting us and am eager to work with you and your children!

Welcome to Waverly Elementary School! My name is Rachel Edoho-Eket [pronounced ED-OH-ECK-IT] and I am pleased to be the assistant principal of this excellent school. Our successful students are a direct reflection of Waverly's exceptional teachers and our committed families. I am delighted to serve in this dynamic school! At Waverly, we engage all students and nurture the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development of the whole child. Through daily world language classes, a focus on developing personal talents, and opportunities for in-depth exploration of the curriculum, students are highly engaged in the educational process. I am a graduate of the Howard County Public School System. I earned my Bachelors Degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA and my Masters Degree from McDaniel College in Westminster, MD. Over the course of my career, I have served in a variety of capacities including Instructional Team Leader, Professional Development Site Liaison, and mentor teacher. I have also written curriculum, worked to influence various HCPSS policies, and continue to advocate for student needs on the county, state, and national level. It is my pleasure to help you and your child in any way that I can. I am excited to partner together with you this year as we work to maximize your child's educational experience. Go Waverly Wildcats!
